Consultation with parents on principles underpinning the behaviour policy
SCHOOL DISCIPLINE AND PUPIL BEHAVIOUR UNDERPINNING PRINCIPLES
- School staff and pupils show respect for one another.
- Good behaviour is rewarded and sanctions are always applied consistently for unacceptable behaviour.
- Preventative measures are taken to reduce the risk of poor behaviour occurring/recurring
- Pupils whose behaviour and attendance deteriorate through events in their personal lives are identified and supported.
- All members of the school community have a 'voice' are listened to and, where appropriate, responses are made.
- All members of the school community are proactive in creating a safe and secure learning environment.
- Pupils act as appropriate ambassadors for the school when outside of school (i.e. on trips, placements, sports events, journeys to and from school.)
- All school staff are expected to model and promote positive behaviour through active development of pupils' social emotional and behavioral skills.
- Parents are expected to support the learning needs of their children and be supportive of the school as a learning community.
- All members of the school community understand and accept the above principles upon which the behaviour policy is grounded.
