CASTLEFORD HIGH (Wakefield) 24
LOWTON (Leigh) 4
Jodie Wilkinson grabbed four tries as Castleford High got off to the perfect start in the Carnegie Champion Schools Finals weekend.
The West Yorkshire school had six teams in London for this year's finals and Wilkinson shone as they claimed the Girls' Year Seven title at RAF Uxbridge. Her try just before half time followed Abi Tapley's earlier effort to give her side an 8-0 lead at the break.
Then Wilkinson weaved through for a second-half hat-trick with three superb solo efforts. Tapley also touched down for her brace with a well-taken score in the corner.
Lowton skipper Chloe Hanlon claimed her side's consolation try midway through the second half.
The winner of the “Sophie Cox player of the match was Castleford High Jodie Wilkinson”
