ART AND DESIGN

In Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils will learn the skills and knowledge to develop their interest in Art and Design.
Pupils learn to research ideas using books, resource sheets and the Internet when developing ideas and producing creative pieces of artwork.
Different art materials are introduced for 2D drawing, painting and collage and 3D-model making, sculpture and relief.

The following topics are covered in Key Stage 3.

* Portraits, using mirrors and photographs.
* Simple still life using the formal elements.

Assessment is measured throughout Key Stage 3, pupils being expected to work between level 3 and 7 with the majority of pupils achieving level 4 to 6 by the end of Year 9.
Parents can support us by making sure pupils are fully equipped with a pencil, rubber and sharpener.
