MUSIC

Music is part of the Performing Arts department. There are numerous opportunities for performing, listening and composing and all pupils are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities such as jazz band, rock band, choir, chamber choir. All these contribute towards school productions.

· Instruments of the orchestra

Year 8
· Introduction to keyboards
· Blues
· Indian music
· Theme and Variations
· Intervals

Year 9
· Film music
· Musical portraits
· Chance music
· Song writer
· Making an arrangement

Pupils use a variety of instruments as well as Music Technology in lessons. Singing and rhythm work also form an integral part of each lesson.

Peripatetic music lessons are also available in string, drums, woodband, brass and guitar.
