MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES

What your child will be taught in Years 7, 8 and 9

All pupils will learn French in Year 7. Students will learn vocabulary and grammar associated with different topics through a variety of reading, listening, speaking and writing activities. Our aim is to teach new language in an innovative and interesting way. The department has an interactive whiteboard which is used as often as possible. Language is taught in many different ways—flashcards, games, puzzles, pair work and drama.

Our aim is to equip students with the necessary language to deal with situations whilst in a French speaking country e.g. ordering food and drink, buying items from shops, asking for directions.
