· The Weimar Republic 1918-1933
· Hitler and the Growth of the Nazi Party 1919-1933
· The Establishment of the Nazi Dictatorship 1933-1934
· Nazi Rule in Germany 1933-1945

This topic makes up 50% of Paper 1.


Term Two Beancroft Road Coursework

One project covering the development of Beancroft Road and Castleford from Roman Times.

The two essays are worth 12.5% of the overall GCSE grade.

Term Three South Africa Coursework

One project covering the origins, development and fall of the Apartheid system in South Africa.

The two essays are worth 12.5% of the overall GCSE grade

Year 11

 

Medicine– A Study in Development

An in-depth view of medicine through the ages. Looking at themes such as change and continuity; progress and
Regression as well as factors: Governments, Religion, War, The Role of Individuals, Chance, Science and Technology,
Communications and conservatism.

This part of the course will involve end of unit tests on the
following topics:
· Prehistoric and Ancient Medicine;
· Medieval and Renaissance Medicine;
· Eighteenth, Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Medicine.

This topic makes up 50% of Paper 1 and 100% of Paper 2.
