High expectations of behaviour are vital in ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for all students. Therefore all possible steps must be taken to ensure that desirable behaviour is recognised and encourages and undesirable behaviour is discouraged and where necessary sanctions applied.
The routine expectations of attendance, punctuality, participation, effort and uniform are consistently applied for our high standards to be maintained.
Participation
All students are expected to fully participate actively in lessons whether that is as a performer or a coach or umpire. Pupils should always give 100% effort in lessons. If this isn’t the case then pupils are warned of their unacceptable efforts. If efforts continue to be less than satisfactory then pupils will be placed on PE report (see below)
Attendance
All students are expected to attend lessons unless absent from school with a valid reason. Truancy is not tolerated and students will be punished with isolation and parents will be contacted.
Punctuality
All students are expected to arrive to lessons punctually, both in terms of arrival at the PE area and after changing, to the appropriate teaching area. A register will be taken at the start of every lesson that will record any instances of failure to comply with the above expectations. Follow up action will be taken where necessary.
Chewing
Chewing is not tolerated in PE lessons. Persistent failure to follow PE rules will result in a student being placed on PE report
Hair
Those with long hair should tie it back in a suitable manner so as not to affect their vision.
