Landrover Challenge 2007

Two teams of students are working towards this exciting competition this year. To build from scratch a working Radio Controlled Landrover Car to complete a set of challenges and face the ultimate testing track designed by the Landrover people themselves!

Last year we brought home second place winning a trophy for the cabinet and £500 this year we hope to go one better and win!

Last week Both teams attended the Northern finals of the challenge. After a full day of presenting design folders and development work, both teams successfully navigated the demanding testing track developed by Landrover and Denford Manufacturing.

We are very proud to announce that BOTH teams were successful and beat the competition to reach the national finals of the competition! Well done to all those involved! Both teams were recognised by Andrew Denford of Denford Manufacturing in a letter to the school he was amazed by the level of hard work, preparation and dedication the pupils had shown in constructing the two vehicles.

After a stunning performance both teams were placed in the top three in the NATIONAL finals of the event, the year 10 team bringing home second place and the year 9 team, third place. Both teams were congratulated on their hard work with both the cars and have received a trophy and a prize for school. Huge thanks go to both teams and Mr Brooke, Mr simpson, and Mr Haigh who all supported the teams during manufacture.
