The Mathematics department is changing its homework system. Your son/daughter will receive a booklet at the start of each half term and homework will be set every week from this booklet. Some homeworks will be completed in the booklet and others in their maths class-book.
During the year we will be assessing your son/daughter’s progress at the end of every half term on each topic covered. During May, they will do their end of year exams. All assessments will consist of both non-calculator and calculator based questions. Revision material will be provided in the run-up to the assessments and we have purchased a programme that can be used both in and out of school called ‘mymaths’ and log-in details will be provided to every pupil.
We would like your support in encouraging your son/daughter to be correctly equipped for their Mathematics lessons and exams. It is expected that they have a pen, pencil, ruler and calculator (scientific is best). It would be helpful if your son/daughter had a protractor and compass at home for their homework. Calculators are available from the mathematics department for a reduced price of £4.00. Other equipment can be bought from pupil support.
Thank you for your continued support.
