Castleford High School scrum half Jodie Wilkinson was the stand-out hero of their run-away win over Leigh school Lowton High School.
In a display of powerful running and football ability, she scored five of their seven tries and provided Lowton with their most serious defensive problems throughout this Year Eight Final.
It looked though Castleford were going to blow their physically smaller opponents away in an opening spell of forward pressure but Lowton stuck gamely to their task.
A long range break by Wilkinson had produced the first try of the game in the opening exchanges and this was followed by their second try from centre Abi Tapley to give Castleford an 8-0 halftime lead.
In the second half the Castleford’s greater physical presence began to tell and the Lowton girls wilted under in the heat and constant pressure.
Wilkinson put them to the sword with three successive tries and then she set up a try for winger Sarah Silcock. And minutes from time she put the finishing touches to an outstanding performance with her fifth try.
